I was recently on a camping trip (the one that tripped my trigger to finally buy a motorcycle, but that is a different story), and we ended up at a great spot right next to a river. The rush of the river was a delight to fall into during the day with the 100+ degree weather, and a lovely song for pleasant dreams. I passed some much needed restful contemplation while staring at the river's smooth, colorful, and varied stones.
They bade me to pick them up, so of course I did, and I found myself creating some towers, or stacks, or sculptures... I am not sure what to call them other than spontaneous temporary, creations, but I know there must be a real name out there somewhere.
I am not exactly sure why people like me need to create little (or big) stone towers, but I have seen them everywhere loose stones are to be found. Now Stonehenge looks to me like a series of stone stacks, I know that is crazy talk, but there is a part of me that imagines it as an artistic exercise of building stone towers.
Of course now pictures of stone towers jump out to me when I peruse our BetterPhoto Member's photos, and I wonder if the photographer made the towers or just enjoyed finding someone's creation?
