Hi – Celia Burkhart here. I thought I would take a few moments to introduce myself and share what I do at BetterPhoto. A little over three years ago I started with BetterPhoto and, as Karen Orr has mentioned, spent time in the “attic” running our shipping department and replying to customer support emails. In the past, I have processed orders, help provide coordination for our Class Track students, and managed our "Best In Class" contest, among other duties.
One of the greatest things about working for BetterPhoto is that you know that what you do everyday really matters to our customers, and to the day-to-day running of the company. It is so refreshing and invigorating having input on important discussions and decisions, and to then watch new projects unfold, knowing that I did my part! I love talking with our customers on the phone, so now I will be focusing my efforts toward sales of our wonderful courses, websites and new products, which are currently in the works! I am looking forward to this new adventure very much.
Before BetterPhoto, I earned a degree in Food Science and spent time working for a couple of food companies in the Pacific Northwest. After getting married and having three daughters, I spent 10 years as an at-home mom. It's so hard to believe that they are now 16, 18 and 19! During that time, I have worked in various jobs at their grade school, including yard duty, math and reading aide and even substitute teacher. I then worked for a friend who had started an insurance company, and after moving to the Seattle area from California in 2004, I worked in one other customer service position before joining BetterPhoto.com. I feel so fortunate to have landed here – my job is always interesting and I love helping our customers achieve their creative goals each day.
I love music and movies, as you can see from my other blogs. My husband and I enjoy going to musical events around the Seattle area, including the Chateau St. Michelle winery, which luckily for us is about five minutes drive away. Our next concert there will definitely be to see Steve Martin with the Steep Canyon Rangers on June 19th. A bluegrass feast it will be on the grass of this beautiful winery!
I would love to hear your comments. Feel free to share your own interests, or thoughts about BetterPhoto and this blog.
